On Monday 12th October 2015 the Health and Safety Executive made the “Asbestos: The Analysts’ Guide 2016” available for public consultation.
This document is a revised version of the Analysts Guide first published in 2005. It contains guidance for Analysts involved in asbestos work and is the authoritative source of analytical procedures.
The guide has been updated to take account of changes in legislation, developments in analytical procedures and methodology, provide clarification on technical and personal safety issues and to consolidate guidance from a number of HSE sources.
The guidance is also designed to help Analysts and their clients comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012 and the associated Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and guidance L143 (Second Edition).
The document introduces new guidance on asbestos in soils in response to industry requests.
The document can be found on the Tramadol For Pets Online
Comments and suggestions should be made by e-mail to the HSE by 20th November 2015.

Following ATaC’s announcement of a new Apprenticeship for the asbestos testing industry in June, interest has now turned to apprenticeship places being taken and more apprentices being recruited.
A number of ATaC members are now in discussions with Cogent Skills, the UK strategic body for skills in the science industries. The team at Cogent will work with these companies and the training provides to deliver the apprenticeship programme, and will also facilitate the science industries’ skills and talent initiative, the Science Industry partnership (SIP).
“The level of interest is amazing,” commented Tony Prior of Cogent Skills. “It’s great to see the industry taking up this new apprenticeship programme. Myself and colleagues are talking to a number of companies who would like up to 6 apprentices!”
“We are also talking to a number of colleges,” stated Tony. “ATaC’s experienced trainers will be able to work effectively with these providers to deliver all the required technical asbestos training and assessments.”
The Apprenticeship – the Advanced (Level 3) Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship (Industrial – Asbestos) – is available through a number of Cogent Skills’ quality assured providers across England, and ATaC will provide qualified tutors to deliver the specialised asbestos training and assessments.
The Apprenticeship will include three ATaC asbestos related modules – asbestos surveying, air monitoring and asbestos bulk analysis – along with NVQ and BTEC modules.

Lawyer Cenric Clement-Evans told BBC Wales he wanted the government to set up an advisory group and create a Wales-wide policy.
